~The Beauty of Change~

We are hemmed in, fences try to limit and hold back,
but change is relentless, it pushes through anyway
and change is unchanging at the very heart of its promise.

Fragmented, change comes in bits here and pieces there,
it frees us.  We peek through, see where we came from.
The boldness of colors to come leads us on,
full-knowing our promises are better than what we see now.

The dead leaves pile up,
to be swept away, for another year,
when we'll again, undoubtedly,
find ourselves beautifully changed,
through the gradual immersion that
merges the fragments of our lives,
experiencing stages that blur distinctions
to be combined into one.

Romans 5:3 (The Message)
"There's more to come:
We continue to shout our praise
even when we're hemmed in with troubles,
because we know how troubles
can develop passionate patience in us,
and how that patience in turn
forges the tempered steel of virtue,
keeping us alert for whatever God will do next.
In alert expectancy such as this,
we're never left feeling shortchanged.
Quite the contrary - we can't round up
enough containers to hold everything
God generously pours into our lives
through the Holy Spirit!"

Psalm 4:1 (Amplified Bible)
"You have freed me when I was hemmed in
and enlarged me when I was in distress..."
