Transform

Here it is,

my word for 2013 :

sculpted out of wire,

hanging where I can see it,

reminding me of what I aspire towards,

and of what is seeking to change me.

My focus verse:

Romans 12:2

"And do not be conformed to this world,

but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,

so that you may prove what the will of God is,

that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

(NASB)

"Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,

but let God transform you into a new person

by changing the way you think.

Then you will learn to know God’s will for you,

which is good and pleasing and perfect."

(NLT)

In a beautiful, lovingly handmade journal,

created and given to me by my special aunt,

I shall record bits and pieces of my journey this year,

the year of "transform"ing me.

2012 Wrap Up

As 2012 comes to a close,

these are some reflections on the year;

I've learned so much, through life,

through the messages of freedom,

through growing as an artist,

as a wife, as a mother,

through using this blog to process thoughts,

and use my photos....

Included in this post are some of

my favorite photos of the year -

this one, above - Reflection in a Vase -

is a self-portrait that answers the question

"where do I see me?"

Other places have been the tea kettle,

and are sure to be the reflection

in the faucet of the bathroom sink;

glimpses caught when the light is right.

... and these two photos,
"Through What I See,"
capture visions of new perspectives.
I've shared some of the messages that
have been on my heart,
kept track of collections
and favorite music selections.
I will be interested to see the stats
of most read posts and how my page is found -
this year, Be Yourself was the top post BY FAR.

2013 enters with a new word to follow,

and I will be back, using this space

to keep track of my journeys

through photography and words.

I will be back to share the colors of my dreams,

with the fabric of rainbows,

as they meet me,

and as I process and share

in the unique way

that a blog is able to provide.

I will look forward to making more wire words

in the new year,

so please contact me if you have one you desire.

With lots of love,

Galatians 6:14-16

"For my part, I am going to boast about nothing but the Cross of our Master, Jesus Christ. Because of that Cross, I have been crucified in relation to the world, set free from the stifling atmosphere of pleasing others and fitting into the little patterns that they dictate. Can’t you see the central issue in all this? It is not what you and I do—submit to circumcision, reject circumcision. It is what God is doing, and he is creating something totally new, a free life! All who walk by this standard are the true Israel of God—his chosen people. Peace and mercy on them!"

::hope::

Hope is the word I made

for a dear relative

with whom I've been connected

through my wonderful aunt,

aforementioned,

and the wonders of

internet interconnectivity.

She is an artist, too,

and oh how I do hope

to meet her some day -

(in person, that is)!

The above haiku was written

for ::hope::

and the above collage made to

go with her word,

hope.
