Silence

When the silence calls,

why is it so hard

to respond, to listen?

 

It goes against the grain

of what I think I want,

what I think I need.

 

 

And yet, I long for it,

yearn for it,

but when it comes,

I question its presence,

forgetting it's preciousness.



The calling of a rarefied existence,

to subsist below the pressure

of the atmosphere.

 

To hallow the hollow,

to delve into

the depths.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

To embrace

the silence

for the life

it brings.

To move myself

to a place

where silence

is venerated.
